Reflection - Future of the Operationg System

After reading the article, Win 7: The Last Major Windows Release, by Tim Bajarin, what impact will Windows 7 have on the PC Market? What predictions are made for the future of Windows and the larger operating system market? How will this change how people use/think about computers?

  1. As you're likely noticing, two major surprise factors have impacted the PC industry in the past two years. The first was the release of the netbook in the fall of 2007. The second major factor that has impacted the industry is the recession. I feel that both do not effect me in the slightest.

The PC buisness has increased by about 13 percent, so Bill Gates and Steve Jobs will continue to be rich. Other features such as Google Chrome and Junk like that are pervading the world, but they're free and needed by lots, so what the heck, download them. Free stuff, no matter the ratio of bad/good, will be tons more popular than things that you pay for. Hence, the illegal burning of Windows World Domination '99.
